Day 1: Airport Pickup – Arusha

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport, you will be welcomed and transferred to your hotel. After settling in, your mountain guide will conduct a briefing, explain the trek and check your climbing equipment.

Day 2: Machame Gate – Machame Camp

After breakfast, drive to Machame Gate for registration and begin your trek through Kilimanjaro’s lush rainforest. The trail gradually ascends through beautiful vegetation before reaching Machame Camp.

Accommodation: Machame Camp – Mountain Camping

Day 3: Machame Camp – Shira Camp

Continue climbing through the rainforest and heathland towards the spectacular Shira Plateau. As you gain altitude, enjoy increasingly impressive views of Mount Kilimanjaro and the surrounding landscapes.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 4: Shira Camp – Lava Tower – Barranco Camp

Trek across the Shira Plateau towards Lava Tower at approximately 4,630m, then descend to Barranco Camp at around 3,900m. This “climb high, sleep low” section is important for acclimatization and offers spectacular alpine scenery.

Day 5: Barranco Camp – Karanga Camp

Begin the day with the famous Barranco Wall. With the assistance of your experienced guides, climb the wall before continuing across ridges and valleys towards Karanga Camp.

Day 6: Karanga Camp – Barafu Hut

Continue ascending towards Barafu Camp at approximately 4,673m, the final base camp before your summit attempt. After arriving, rest and prepare your equipment for the early-morning climb to Uhuru Peak.

Day 7: Barafu – Uhuru Peak – Mweka Camp

Begin your summit attempt in the early hours of the morning. Trek towards Stella Point and continue along the crater rim to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa.

After celebrating your achievement and taking in the breathtaking views, descend through the alpine zone towards Mweka Camp for a well-earned rest.

Accommodation: Mweka Camp – Mountain Camping

Day 8: Mweka Camp – Mweka Gate – Departure

After breakfast, descend through the beautiful rainforest to Mweka Gate at approximately 1,640m. Complete the park formalities and receive your Kilimanjaro summit certificate before transferring to Moshi or Arusha for your onward journey.

Accommodation: Moshi/Arusha Hotel – Included as the post-climb hotel night
